Two Heads are Better than None

How do people bother to fill these things all the time? I've meant to. But from one week to the next I dont have time.

I read about someone who posts everyday to their LiveJournal.

But, hang on, how can they have anything interesting to say if all they do, day in day out, is post to a live journal?!

Anyway, as I discovered the other day, the title of this posting; never could a truer word be said.

Have a nice Xmas!

A doorway into Sweden

A photo of a large canvas from my good friend, Geoff Bunn. Who is somewhere in Sweden. Or France.

Understanding Bloggery

God, not only do I get proper told off for not already being in the middle of an in-depth discussion of Art, I still cant really understand lots of things to do with Blogs.

So, anyway, I am - when I get the time - looking into it all a bit more and I will, hopefully, soon be able to do more than just waffle about things and get onto Art.

In the meantime, have another look at my pussy! (Aint he cute!)

On Google Off Google

Why does a blog appear on Google and then disappear from Google?

Ice Land

A few friends and I went to Iceland for ten days in July.

Strange place. Not just because of the landscape and springs and stuff, but because the people are unusual. Neither American nor European, not Scandinavian (which we had expected) nor Celtic(ky).

Almost as if an Alien species had landed and decided to lay a claim to the most self-sufficient energy space on the planet.

Are Icelanders from Mars?

The Witch Hunt and Art

A photograph of two partly naked children has been removed from an exhibition in an art centre in England.

What is this all about? A modern day witch hunt?

First off, the photo was taken by a respected female photographer. And it has been exhibited in many places before without complaint.

Second off, where does it stop? If we are going to start destroying photos on the basis that a paedophile 'might' be able to get off on them, what about Mothercare brochures? Will they have to go to? And what about holiday snaps? No more toddlers with buckets and spades just in case...

Surely we have to draw a line with this stuff?

An Old Press Release

"The old LazLo cafe, adopting the name LazLo officially for the first time, will be re-opening with a new art centre in September. The initial exhibition features work donated by artists from the NiCon artists of Scandinavia as well as one or two pieces by the founder, French based artist Geoff Bunn. The gallery will be open from 8:00pm until 4:00am for 4 days. No admission restrictions but space is limited. So, as Bergerman suggests, Don'st bring a friend!"

Still experimenting with this. Wondered how this label thing works...

Peanut Halved

Oh, oh.

There was supposed to be a link to something here but I cant find the thing.

Never mind. If I ever do, I'll post this again!

New Conceptual Art

erm... ok. today. well, i've already mentioned the aritst Geoff Bunn. now, another influence, which is kind of linked, is what has been (for some long winded reason and wrongly) called 'new' conceptual art. (but is really Neither Conceptual because the word is Swedish).

this is basically the work of Geoff Bunn and two other artists; Marc Bergerman and his partner Anna H. (both of whom i've also met; but only briefly).

well, they are sort of environmentalist/conceptualist artists but with a difference.

you can look them up. and see if you can see what that difference is.

so, anyway, thats influence number 2 on my own art. which i'll mebbe talk about next. i may even have a photo or two.

** Unfound Art **

i start with the unfound art of geoff bunn, in part because he is a friend of mine - he lives in france (as do i) but he lives in the middle bit and i live by the sea in the north.

well, anyway, when i left art college, i met geoff at an exhibition in london; a small, independent expo of a friend of his. anyway, i met geoff and he was very nice. (as he has been in some of the main galleries i didnt expect that he would have much time for me - but he did).

well, that was a few years ago. not so many. but no so little either.

now we write to each other and, from time to time, we meet up.

so, anyway, geoff bunn's 'unfound art': if you dont know it, look it up. (and where have you been?)
Oh oh. This is much more complicated than I thought.
so

what does this look like?

pretty basic i imagine.

let's save it and see.
